The Stanley Street Quarter is the urban quarter that’s quirky but cultured, diverse yet inclusive and vibrant in a uniquely Liverpool way. Officially recognised as the city’s Gay Quarter by the Council in 2011 the area is growing into a destination locally and nationally for people to live, work and enjoy; whether that is in one of the many businesses, restaurants, bars or hotels that are located in the area.

The Stanley Street Quarter Community Interest Company aims to develop the area into ‘A world-class, city centre destination to live, work and enjoy where the LGBT Community is celebrated’. This is being done by working with stakeholders to improve the look of the area, quality and diversity of the offer and market the Stanley Street Quarter locally, nationally and internationally in order to attract visitors and investors. The company’s objectives and day-to-day running is led by the board of directors (open to all interested in being involved) who act in the best interest of all stakeholders based on regular consultation and stakeholder meetings.

Stanley Street Quarter CIC seeks to add value to businesses in the area, and shape the area into a destination within it’s own right. In 2011 when the original endorsement of the area was made it recognised as an area with a great economic potential. The notion of the ‘Pink Pound’ only adds testimony to this potential as an area at the focal point of over 94,000 LGBT people in the Liverpool City Region – putting us on par with the populations of global top ‘gay cities’. (Coming Soon – SSQ Business Pledge).

Recognised as the city’s ‘Gay Quarter’ the identity of the LGBT community is clear to see in the area and should be championed; Alongside this the area is becoming popular with many other communities as well as a desirable location to live and stay – this is reflected in the vision for the area that the company has, shaped by stakeholders.

We welcome anyone who would like to get involved and help us shape the future of the Stanley Street Quarter – to find out more, press, filming and other enquiries please contact us or visit our invest page.
