Help us set the future of the Stanley Street Quarter.
As we enter the New Year we are beginning a new, long-awaited chapter of the Stanley Street Quarter’s history; With the founding of the Stanley Street Quarter Community Interest Company, a body created to take forward the leadership and development of the initiative; With this new company we will continue the work started in 2011, when Liverpool City Council recognised the Stanley Street Quarter as the official Gay Quarter of the city, a first in the UK and even globally.
Becoming a company allows us to grow and obtain funding which could not be done as part the City Council in the current financial climate – needless to say the Community Interest Company has the full endorsement of the Council and the agencies that are a part of this and they continue to support and facilitate the project.
2014 presents the chance for the Stanley Street Quarter to grow and attract global interest – not only from tourists but also from investors. The International Festival for Business will see the city come alive, playing host to over one million influential delegates looking to invest and enjoy our city, not to mention the return of Liverpool Pride and Homotopia 11 to the global stage.
With these new opportunities approaching we need to review the original work that led to where we are at today and develop new, up-to-date goals and a vision for the Stanley Street Quarter of the future.
I invite you to be a part of this journey to shape a world-class quarter for what is already a world-class city.
The Stanley Street Quarter’s Public Consultation will take place over several formats.
Over the next two months, workshops, social media campaigns and an online survey will help us draw together opinions of the area, find out what you and other stakeholders in the area think should be a priority, this will help us draw up proposals and ideas for the area going forward. Once this consultation has ended there will be an ongoing feedback form available for comments.
